History and background

The Mercedes-Benz 250 SL Pagoda was part of the W113 series, introduced in 1963 as the successor to both the 190 SL and the 300 SL Roadster. The designation "Pagoda" refers to the hardtop profile, which is lower in the middle than at the edges, creating a recognizably shaped roofline. The Mercedes-Benz 250 SL Pagoda was produced in 1967 and was a relatively briefly offered version within the W113 series, as Mercedes-Benz only supplied this variant for a limited period.
