Description

This 1960 Heinkel 103A-1 is an exceptional and original Dutch delivered example, with only 54,081 kilometers on the odometer. The model, painted in the classic dark and light gray color, still exudes its original charm with a beautiful authentic patina. This is one of the last scooters of this type produced, which only adds to its exclusivity.

German craftsmanship after World War II

After the war, Heinkel Flugzeugwerke, originally a German aircraft manufacturer, switched to scooters, with the Tourist series becoming a great success. This 103A-1 is equipped with a robust 173cc four-stroke OHV engine, fan-cooled and with a dynamo starter. Heinkel was known for its quality, and you can tell that from the thoughtful details: the handlebars feature an integrated speedometer, and the engine hangs from rubbers for improved ride comfort, providing a refined riding experience.

Thoughtful innovations and stylish details

Heinkel made a number of important innovations on this model. For example, this version received fully enclosed handlebars, instead of the open bike handlebars of the earlier models. The speedometer was elegantly integrated into the handlebars, offering a sleek look and extra legroom. This type was produced between 1957 and 1960 and came in various color combinations. This example still contains all its original accessories, a rare detail that highlights its historical value.

Performance and reliability

The Heinkel 103A-1 is equipped with a 173 cc engine that produces 9.5 hp, good for a top speed of 93 km/h. These scooters have impressive performance thanks to their light weight and efficient design, making them ideal for both short rides and longer tours.
