The Heinkel Trojan is a microcar that perfectly addressed the need for affordable, compact cars in the postwar period. This 1957 Heinkel Trojan is one of many cars built at the time to provide reliable mobility with limited resources. The popularity of microcars grew, especially during the Suez Crisis, when fuel economy was a central issue.
Restored body in original condition
This example is in excellent condition, thanks to a thorough restoration. The bodywork, done in the original color, has been repainted and still looks neat. The thin sheet metal fits snugly throughout, allowing the car to retain its characteristic retro appearance. With only one door, placed at the front, you easily step into the surprisingly spacious interior via the swivel steering wheel.
Comfortable and well cared for interior
The interior of this Heinkel Trojan is as well maintained as the exterior. The seats have been reupholstered with stylish checkered upholstery, and the original Bakelite steering wheel is in excellent condition. The carpets were neatly renewed during the restoration and add to the neat appearance of the interior.
Light and efficient technology
Under the hood is a 200cc engine that produces 10 hp, mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Although the performance seems modest, the low weight of only 290 kg makes the Heinkel surprisingly fast. With a top speed of 90 mph, the Trojan offers a fun driving experience, ideal for city driving and short distances.
A rare opportunity for a unique classic
This restored example is a superb example of a microcar from the 1950s, an era when compact and efficient design were key. A unique opportunity for lovers of exceptional classic cars.
