The 1934 Peugeot 601 is an impressive piece of French automobile history. The 601 was Peugeot's flagship car at the time, symbolizing the elegance and progressiveness of the French automobile industry in the 1930s. The model was intended for the elite, and this is reflected in the refined lines of the design, the use of luxurious materials, and the attention to detail typical of the period. The 601 was positioned as a luxury touring car, where comfort and style were seamlessly combined.
The Peugeot 601 was one of the last Peugeots to be hand-built, and that adds to its exclusive character. Under the hood is an inline six-cylinder engine, considered a symbol of luxury and innovation at the time. The Art Deco-inspired interior with its stylish finish and spacious passenger compartment made the 601 a true gran turismo for its time.
This Peugeot has been added to the collection in drivable condition, but will need some attention on a technical level to return to traffic. The car is exempt from road tax and MOT requirements. This exemption makes it possible to keep the car in its original condition and cherish it as the historical heritage that it is. The Peugeot 601 exudes an unmistakable charm that harkens back to a bygone era of elegance and craftsmanship, and owning this car means preserving a piece of French grandeur.
The design of the 601 is both elegant and imposing, with long, flowing lines and a stately front end that perfectly suited the tastes of the upper class in the 1930s. Peugeot offered the 601 in various body styles, including saloon cars and convertibles, and although this example has stood the test of time, it still retains much of its original appearance. The grille, headlights, and subtle details in the sheet metal all contribute to an aura of refinement and style.
To get a good idea of the car, we recommend coming to one of the viewing days.
