The Porsche 911 SC Targa was introduced in the late 1970s as part of the ongoing development of the G-series, the generation that steered the 911 in a more mature and refined direction without straying from the original concept. The abbreviation SC stands for Super Carrera and marks a period in which Porsche further consolidated the 911 with an air-cooled six-cylinder engine as a mainstay in the sports car segment. Four new tires have also been installed, along with a new spare tire and inner tube. The front end is equipped with a new Koni shock absorber. The brakes have been extensively overhauled with reconditioned front and rear brake calipers, new brake lines, and new brake rotors. The clutch plate, pressure plate, and bearing have been replaced. In addition, the wheel bearings have been replaced, and parts of the drivetrain have been renewed. The A/C compressor has been overhauled but has not yet been charged or pressure-tested. An original car jack and tools are included.

The Porsche 911 SC Targa features an air-cooled six-cylinder boxer engine and the familiar rear-wheel-drive layout of the 911 series.
