Description

History and background

The BMW M5 was introduced in the early 1980s as the flagship model within the 5 Series and one of the first sedans to translate performance from motorsport directly to the general public. Since its first generation, the M5 has held a firm place within BMW M GmbH's program, with an emphasis on a combination of limousine practicality and an engine and chassis design that clearly goes beyond that of the regular 5-Series.

The 2013 generation of the BMW M5 belongs to the F10 series, which entered the market in 2011. This version marked an important technical step as BMW M switched the M5 from an atmospheric V10 to a turbocharged V8. This also changed the character of the model, while maintaining its positioning as a sporty business car. The BMW M5 of this period was delivered in a market segment in which fast sedans had to increasingly distinguish themselves through technology, finish and everyday practicality.

Within the M5 line, the F10 generation gained a recognizable place through the combination of modern electronics, higher efficiency than its predecessor and a broadly applicable driving concept. For the BMW M5, the premise remained unchanged: a five-door sedan with serious performance and a clear link to BMW's motorsports division. In 2013, this model thus represented a phase in which comfort, technology and power were strongly intertwined in this segment.

Characteristics and special features

The 2013 BMW M5, as a South Korean vehicle, is prepared for traffic on the right side of the road. The headlight adjustment and rear fog light are adjusted accordingly for use on the European side. This is a technical detail that is important when evaluating the car, as it shows how the lighting is set for the particular traffic situation.

For the BMW M5 of these builds, the combination of sedan character and M-specific technology is further notable. The F10 generation is known for its turbocharged V8 technology and the corresponding emphasis on torque and direct handling. This sets the BMW M5 apart from earlier generations, which, on the contrary, relied more heavily on high-revving atmospheric engines. The presence of various invoices is part of the vehicle's documentation and provides additional administrative justification for the lot.

Summary

The 2013 BMW M5 represents the F10 generation within the M5 series and thus a phase in which BMW M definitively made the switch to turbo technology. The car is prepared for use on the European side of the road and comes with various invoices. To get a good idea of the lot, we recommend coming to the viewing day.
