Description

History and background

The 2007 Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT belongs to the fourth generation of the Quattroporte, a model series launched by Maserati to combine a large luxury sedan with a distinctly sporty character. Presented in 2003, the fourth generation marked a period for Maserati in which design, performance and exclusivity came together emphatically. In the market, the Quattroporte positioned itself as an alternative to established German luxury sedans, but with a distinct Italian signature and less mass production.

The Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT occupies a specific place within that generation. The version came with a 4.2 V8 and the DuoSelect transmission, a combination characteristic of Maserati's technical direction in those years. In practice, the Sport GT version was often chosen for its more performance-oriented tuning, while the basic design of the car remained emphatically that of a full-size luxury sedan. The Quattroporte thus has a role in the history of Maserati as a model that made the brand more visible in the segment of fast top-of-the-line sedans.

With the Maserati Quattroporte of this generation, the balance between classic luxury elements and modern technology also stood out. That applied to the body shape, but also to the way the car was positioned: as a limousine with sports car components. In that context fits the 2007 model year, in which the Quattroporte Sport GT was already a recognizable and refined elaboration of the model.

Characteristics and special features

This Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT is equipped with the 4.2 V8 with an output of 400 hp at 7,000 rpm and 470 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. The combination with the DuoSelect transmission is part of the technical identity of this model. The stated performance puts the Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT from 0 to 100 km/h in about 5.6 seconds, with a top speed of about 280 km/h. This puts the car in line with the character of a high-end fast sedan.

The interior features black leather heated seats with red stitching, carbon look trim and an advanced infotainment system. The original rims are mounted with Michelin Super Sport tires. Also present is an after-market lowering set from ZSS Rigel Performance, the height of which is adjustable with the included tool. This Maserati Quattroporte also has maintenance and service booklets, two original keys with remote control and a Japan-issued license plate dated 19-12-2007. The mileage is 56,333 km and the odometer registration on the official documents states 49,000 km in 2020 and 53,700 km in 2023. The rear left window mechanism is not functioning.

Summary

The 2007 Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT is a fourth-generation Quattroporte with the 4.2 V8, DuoSelect transmission and a version focused on sporty performance combined with luxury. The car has low mileage, maintenance and service booklets, two original keys and Japanese registration history. To get a good idea of the lot we recommend you come to the viewing day.
