History and background
The Lincoln Navigator was introduced in 1997 as a luxury SUV within the offerings of Lincoln, Ford's premium brand. With this model, Lincoln was responding to the growing demand for large, high-riding vehicles that combined space with comfort and a traditional American V8 powertrain. Over the years, the Navigator has become one of the better-known full-size SUVs from the United States, with a market position between a utilitarian off-road vehicle and a luxury travel car.
The 2009 Lincoln Navigator V8 belongs to the third generation, which was produced from 2007 to 2017. This generation received a more pronounced body and remained based on a robust ladder chassis, technically related to the Ford Expedition. In doing so, the Navigator remained true to its original design as a large, heavy SUV with an emphasis on space, towing capacity and long-distance use. In the American market, this type of SUV was seen as a full-fledged alternative to a luxury sedan, but with considerably more capacity.
The 2009 Lincoln Navigator V8 included the 5.4-liter V8 Triton with 310 horsepower combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Available was rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, depending on configuration. The dimensions are generous, with a length of about 5.2 meters, a width of almost 2 meters and a height of about 1.9 meters. Empty weight is around 2,700 kg. The Navigator could accommodate six to eight passengers, making it one of the larger luxury SUVs of its time in practical terms as well.
Characteristics and features
The Lincoln Navigator V8 features three rows of seats, finished with materials such as real wood and leather upholstery. Standard equipment includes heated and cooled front seats, a power folding third row of seats and a premium audio system. This version is additionally equipped with a digital recorder system, where camera images of the front and rear of the car can be recorded. Such features place the Navigator within the segment of large American luxury SUVs in which comfort and convenience are emphatically combined.
The combination of all-wheel drive and a towing capacity of approximately 4,000 kg, depending on configuration, underscores the versatile nature of the Lincoln Navigator V8. The car was registered in Japan on 21-12-2009. The mileage records on the official documents list 85,000 miles in 2023 and 86,800 miles in 2024, representing 136,794 and 139,691 kilometers. The car comes with an original remote control key. The Lincoln Navigator V8 drives and shifts excellent.
