The 1986 Renault Rodeo is a Renault open leisure car, of which the example on offer was built in 1982. The Renault Rodeo was produced between 1970 and 1987 and was intended as a functional and simply constructed recreational car. Production took place in cooperation with ACL (Ateliers de Construction du Livradois), later known as Teilhol. A total of about 60,000 examples of the Renault Rodeo were built, spread over the various generations.
The 1986 Renault Rodeo was based on existing Renault technology of the period, using proven components from other models of the brand. Characteristic of the Rodeo series is the plastic body that was placed on a separate chassis. This concept was similar to other light leisure vehicles of the era and was aimed at easy use and maintenance. The modular design allowed body parts to be replaced relatively easily.
Within the model range, the 1986 Renault Rodeo succeeded earlier versions such as the Rodeo 4 and Rodeo 6. Over the years, details were modified in terms of design and technology, while retaining the basic idea of a light and functional vehicle. The Renault Rodeo was offered in several European markets and was particularly popular in regions where there was a need for a practical vehicle for recreational use or light work.
This 1986 Renault Rodeo from the 1982 model year represents a model from the later production phase of the Rodeo series, which remained in production until 1987. Due to its relatively limited total production numbers compared to regular Renault passenger cars, the Renault Rodeo is a less common model within the brand's historic range. To get a good idea of the lot, we recommend coming to the viewing day.
