Description

The 1996 Saab 9000 belongs to the second half of the production cycle of this model, which was originally introduced in 1984. The Saab 9000 came about from a collaboration within the so-called Type Four platform, which was also used for the Fiat Croma, Lancia Thema and Alfa Romeo 164. Despite this technical basis, Saab distinguished itself with its own body design, specific safety solutions and a distinctive Scandinavian design. The Saab 9000 positioned itself in the upper mid-range segment and came as a liftback and as a sedan, with functionality and space playing a central role.

Over the years, the Saab 9000 was further developed with attention to structural safety and driving comfort. At this time, Saab was known for its focus on active and passive safety, including reinforcements in the body structure and a thoughtful seating position. The design of the 1996 Saab 9000 is characterized by clean and timeless lines typical of the brand in the 1990s, with an emphasis on clarity and ergonomics in the interior concept.

By the mid-1990s, the Saab 9000 was in the completion phase of its production; in 1998, production finally ended after a total run of over 500,000 units. This makes the Saab 9000 an important model within the brand's history, in part because the model contributed internationally to Saab's positioning as a manufacturer of larger business cars alongside the more compact 900 series.

This 1996 Saab 9000 is a version from the last production period of the model. Interested parties are advised to carefully review the available documentation and specifications to get a complete picture of this lot. To get a good idea of the lot we recommend coming to the viewing day.
