Description

The 1985 Renault 4 GTL is a version of the model introduced in 1961 as a practical and affordable passenger car with a high degree of convenience. The Renault 4 remained in production until 1992 and was built more than eight million times worldwide. This makes the model one of Renault's longest-produced and most widely distributed cars. The 1985 Renault 4 GTL represents a later stage of development within this long production period.

The designation GTL was added to the range in the 1970s and positioned itself as a more complete version within the Renault 4's offering. Features of the later build years included modified exterior elements and further refinement of the original concept, where functionality and low running costs remained central. The basic principle with front-wheel drive, a practical five-door body and a flat folding rear seat was retained throughout.

By 1985, the 1985 Renault 4 GTL had been technically further developed from the early versions of the 1960s, while retaining the characteristic design with its straight lines and recognizable front. The model found its way into diverse markets in Europe, South America and other parts of the world, where it was used as a family car, commercial vehicle and, in some countries, also for government services.

Within its long model history, the 1985 Renault 4 GTL is considered a representative of the later series, in which the original concept was combined with modifications that matched the requirements of the 1980s. To get a good idea of the lot, we recommend coming to the viewing day.
