Description

The 2003 Jaguar S-Type 2.5 V6 belongs to the first-generation S-Type produced between 1999 and 2007. With this model, Jaguar launched a modern interpretation of its classic sports sedan, inspired by the S-Type from the 1960s. The 2003 Jaguar S-Type 2.5 V6 was developed at a time when the brand was part of the Ford Group, resulting in a shared platform with other models within that group, while the design and tuning remained characteristic of Jaguar.

The 2.5 V6 engine was the entry-level version of the six-cylinder variants within the range. This powerplant was part of the AJ-V6 engine family used by Jaguar in several models. The choice of a V6 engine in the 2003 Jaguar S-Type 2.5 V6 was in line with the demand for refined six-cylinder technology in the upper mid-range segment, in which comfort and agility were central.

In terms of positioning, the 2003 Jaguar S-Type 2.5 V6 competed with established European business sedans from Germany. Jaguar distinguished itself in this segment with a distinctly retro design, round headlights and a classic grille shape, combined with a modern chassis concept. The model was available in several trims, with the 2.5 V6 being an accessible variant within the range.

Production of the first-generation S-Type ran until 2007, after which the model was succeeded by the XF. The 2003 Jaguar S-Type 2.5 V6 thus represents a specific phase in Jaguar's development, combining traditional design elements with contemporary technology.
