The 1975 Peugeot 304 Cabrio is an open version of the 304 series produced by Peugeot between 1969 and 1980. The model was positioned in the mid-range segment and succeeded the Peugeot 204, whose basic technical concept was adopted. The convertible variant distinguished itself within the range by its open body and was designed and built in collaboration with Pininfarina, which was responsible for the design and production of the open versions.
Within the Peugeot 304 series, the convertible occupied a special place. Whereas most 304 models came as a sedan, coupe or break, the open version had more limited production and its own body structure. The 1975 Peugeot 304 Cabrio belongs to the later build years of this model, as production of the convertible ended in the mid-1970s. Thus, this year of construction marks the end of the open variant within the 304 generation.
Technically, the Peugeot 304 was based on the front-wheel-drive platform introduced by Peugeot in the 1960s, which was characteristic of the brand at that time. The 304 was known for its independent suspension and compact build, features that contributed to its position in the European C-segment of the time. The combination of French engineering and Italian design gave the convertible its own character within Peugeot's model range.
The 1975 Peugeot 304 Cabrio thus represents a version from a period when open four-seat convertibles were relatively scarce in this segment. This 1975 example is offered as an auction lot. To get a good impression of the lot we advise you to come to the viewing day.
