Description

The 2007 Mercedes-Benz CL 63 AMG belongs to the C216 generation of the CL-Class, which was introduced in 2006 as the two-door coupévariant of the S-Class. With this series, Mercedes-Benz continued the tradition of large, luxurious coupés with a strong emphasis on comfort, technology and finish. Within the range, the CL 63 AMG assumed the position of sporty top-of-the-line version, developed by AMG as the performance division of the brand.

The Mercedes-Benz CL 63 AMG came with an atmospheric 6.2-liter V8 engine, a power source that was characteristic of several AMG models during this period. The combination of rear-wheel drive and an automatic transmission matched the character of the CL-Class as a powerful car. Technically, this model distinguished itself by, among other things, a modified suspension and braking system compared to the regular versions, in keeping with the AMG philosophy of those years.

The design of the C216 is characterized by a relatively clean, timeless design with frameless doors and a pronounced coupéline without a B-pillar. The Mercedes-Benz CL 63 AMG was visually distinguished from the standard CL models by AMG-specific details in bumpers, alloy wheels and subtle body accents, among others. The model was produced in Sindelfingen, where the S-Class was also built, with which it shares its technical base.

This 2007 example is a version that comes from South Korea. In South Korea, as in the Netherlands, people drive on the right side of the road. The adjustment of the headlights and rear fog light is therefore suitable for use according to the European direction of traffic. This is consistent with the original configuration of the vehicle for right-hand driving markets.

The Mercedes-Benz CL 63 AMG represents within the C216 series the AMG version from the first production years of this model. The model combines the technical basis of the S-Class with AMG's specific modifications and was produced in limited numbers compared to the regular CL variants. To get a good idea of the lot, we recommend coming to the viewing day.
