The Santana PS10 2.8TD is an off-road vehicle produced in 2005 by Spain's Santana Motor S.A., a manufacturer that for many years built off-road vehicles under license based on Land Rover technology. The Santana PS10 was introduced in the early 2000s as a further development of these license-built models and distinguished itself by its own positioning within the rugged 4x4 vehicle segment. With the PS10, Santana targeted both professional use and private drivers looking for a functional and traditionally built chassis.
The Santana PS10 2.8TD is equipped with a 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine, a power source that was more commonly used in commercially oriented off-road vehicles during this period because of its torquey character and suitability for a variety of uses. Built on a ladder chassis, the model is characterized by a classic concept with separate chassis and body, typical of off-road vehicles with an emphasis on functionality and durability. Production of the PS10 ran until the end of Santana Motor's existence in 2011, making the model among the brand's last independently developed vehicles.
Within the European market, the Santana PS10 2.8TD occupied a position of its own alongside similar off-road vehicles from the same period. The model was used by government departments, utility companies and in agricultural environments, among others, which is in line with the utilitarian nature of its construction. The presence of a Certificate of Conformity with this specimen confirms that the vehicle has the corresponding type-approval documentation in accordance with the regulations in force.
The 2005 Santana PS10 2.8TD thus represents a phase in Santana's history in which the brand built on its long tradition in the production of off-road vehicles, but at the same time pursued an independent course with its own model designations and technical interpretation. To get a good idea of the lot, we recommend coming to the viewing day.
