Description

The 1987 Honda Prelude belongs to the third generation of this model, which was produced by Honda from 1987 to 1991. With this generation, Honda took a clear step in further developing the Prelude as a sportily positioned coupe within the mid-range segment. During this period, the Honda Prelude was characterized by a more streamlined design with a low nose and wide body, fitting within the design language of the late 1980s.

Within the model line, the Honda Prelude occupied its own position alongside other Honda models, with engineering and chassis tuning focused on a balanced driving experience. Typical of this generation was the use of advanced technologies for the time, including innovative suspension and, on certain versions, all-wheel steering. This technically distinguished the Honda Prelude from many contemporaries in its class.

The third generation was delivered worldwide and contributed to Honda's further international positioning as a manufacturer of sporty-lined passenger cars. The Honda Prelude was offered in several markets with multiple engine variants and equipment levels, depending on country and trim level. The model was known for its combination of Japanese build quality and a distinct coupe bodywork with two doors.

With the year of construction being 1987, this is a specimen from the introduction year of this generation. The Honda Prelude from this period marks the transition to a more modern design and further technical refinement within the model series, which was originally introduced in 1978.
