Description

The 1975 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible is an open version of the iconic Beetle model that had been produced worldwide since the 1950s. The convertible versions were built in cooperation with coachbuilder Karmann in Osnabrück, where additional reinforcements were added to the bodywork to make the open construction possible. In the 1970s, the Volkswagen Beetle Convertible was among the last variants of the classic Beetle generation, while successor models were already being introduced in various markets.

The Volkswagen Beetle Convertible of this model year is characterized by its recognizable rounded bodywork, detached fenders, and rear-mounted air-cooled boxer engine, a configuration that defined the model for decades. The convertible version is distinguished by its fully folding hood and specific reinforcements in sills and body structure. Production of the open Beetle ran longer than that of the closed sedan, which made the convertible a permanent feature within Volkswagen's range in the 1970s.

In this Volkswagen Beetle Convertible, the rear windows do not work and are loose. The soft top is in poor condition. The chrome present shows rust. The tonneau cover does not fit properly. These points are part of the offered lot and are mentioned in the context of transparency.

The Volkswagen Beetle Convertible remains a characteristic representative of the air-cooled Volkswagen generation, with a long production history and a clear place within the development of the brand. To get a good idea of the lot, we recommend coming to the viewing day.
