The 1965 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III is the third and final generation of the Silver Cloud series, which was produced from 1962 to 1966. This model succeeded the Silver Cloud II and distinguished itself, among other things, by the use of dual headlights, adapted to the American regulations in force at the time. A total of 2,044 examples of the Silver Cloud III were built, making this model a relatively limited production within the Rolls-Royce range of that period. The Silver Cloud III also marks the end of an era in which Rolls-Royce used a traditional chassis concept before the introduction of the self-supporting body with the Silver Shadow.
This example is an original 1965 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III, equipped with the 6.2-liter V8 engine that was standard for this model at the time. The engine is running. The car is equipped with an automatic transmission, which is currently faulty; the car can only drive in reverse gear. According to the statement, it probably concerns the brake bands in the gearbox, requiring overhaul or disassembly. The car is equipped with both an LPG system and a gasoline supply.
Further, this Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III is equipped with a complete stainless steel exhaust and a Brabo electronic ignition. The chassis is described as good. On the bodywork, work is present in the known areas of this model. The interior is finished in crème leather and features working electric windows.
The Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III in its production years was known for its refined workmanship and technical advancement over previous generations. With its 6.2-liter V8 and traditional body on a separate chassis, this model represents the latest evolution of the classic Silver Cloud series. To get a good idea of the lot, we recommend coming to the viewing day.
