The Maserati Levante was introduced in 2016 as the first SUV in the Italian brand's history. With the Levante, Maserati entered a new market segment, combining the brand's character with a higher body and more interior space. The name refers to a Mediterranean wind and is in keeping with Maserati's tradition of naming models after winds. The 2017 Maserati Levante is among the first production years of this model.
The development of the Maserati Levante took place under the then FCA group, using a platform that was also used within other brands of the group, but adapted specifically for Maserati. The design came from the Maserati Centro Stile in Turin and was characterized by a prominent grille with the trident logo, frameless doors and a sloping roofline in keeping with the design language of earlier Maserati models. Production took place at the Mirafiori plant in Turin, which was modernized specifically for the assembly of this model.
With the Maserati Levante, the brand positioned itself in the segment of luxury SUV’s, combining driving comfort and sporting characteristics with practicality. The model played an important role in Maserati's global growth strategy and contributed to a significant increase in the brand's production numbers in the years following its introduction. Since its market introduction, the Levante has been available in various trims, appealing to a wide audience within the upper segment.
This 2017 Maserati Levante represents the first generation of the model, which was produced in this form until the 2020 facelift. The model has since developed into a fixture within Maserati's lineup and is an important part of the brand's modern history. To get a good idea of the lot, we recommend coming to the viewing day.
