Description

The 1977 Maserati Kyalami is a rare Gran Turismo from the De Tomaso era of the marque. This example was originally Dutch delivered and has been registered in the Netherlands since new. A total of approximately 210 examples of the Maserati Kyalami were produced between 1976 and 1983, making this model one of the most exclusive Maserati models from the 1970s. This vehicle has had four private owners, which is limited for a car of this age.

The Maserati Kyalami was designed by Pietro Frua and is characterized by an understated, angular body line typical of Italian design of the period. The model shares its technical base with the De Tomaso Longchamp, with Maserati taking care of the powertrain and further tuning. This example is finished in blue metallic with a classic interior.

Under the hood lies the 4.2-liter V8 engine with an output of approximately 253 hp. The Maserati Kyalami 4.2 was known for its combination of a powerful eight-cylinder and the comfort of a full-size GT. No air conditioning was installed. The battery is empty.

Because of the low production numbers and the limited number of surviving examples, the Maserati Kyalami is a model that occupies a special position within the classic Maserati line. This original Dutch delivered example with four private owners and a full Dutch registration history represents a transparently documented version of this rare type.
