The 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera belongs to the 996 generation, the first 911 with a water-cooled boxer engine. With this generation, Porsche introduced a new technical platform and a modernized design, bringing the model in line with stricter emissions requirements and changing market demands. The 996 was produced from 1997 to 2005 and marked an important development step within the history of the Porsche 911 Carrera, retaining traditional features such as the rear-mounted six-cylinder boxer engine.
This example is a 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera whose mileage is considered logical by the RDW. The car was valued at €30,000 on August 21, 2023. The maintenance was performed annually by Porsche specialist Waal Garage in Broek in Waterland. At a mileage of 226,226, the engine was overhauled which included replacing the bearings (IMS bearings). In October 2022, the alternator was overhauled.
In 2021, various work was performed, including replacing the steering leather and steering lock. Also in April 2021, the convertible top, equipped with glass, was replaced. The hydraulic cylinders of the convertible top were overhauled in June 2023. In addition, the seat pads were overhauled. In 2021, the audio system was upgraded with a new radio, speakers and amplifier.
The Porsche 911 Carrera is known for its distinctive body shape, rear-wheel drive and the characteristic 911 concept that has been largely preserved since its introduction in 1963. The 996 generation introduced an updated interior and revised suspension compared to its predecessor. Within the long production series of the Porsche 911 Carrera, this model represents a distinctive phase in which tradition and modernization come together.
