Description

This 1952 Jaguar XK120 emerged from the revolutionary sports car series launched by Jaguar in the early 1950s. First presented in 1948, the model got its name thanks to its top speed of 120 miles per hour, making it one of the fastest production cars in the world at the time. Equipped with an inline six-cylinder engine with dual overhead camshafts, the XK120 was praised for its smooth performance and advanced engineering for the time. The lightweight body with flowing lines and long hood gave the model a distinctly sporty character that resonated both on the road and on the track.

By 1952, the XK120 had become an international icon and was used in numerous rallies and long-distance races. This car was known for its combination of power, reliability and a balanced chassis, attracting both amateur and professional drivers. The car was available as a Roadster, Fixed Head Coupe and Drophead Coupe, catering to different markets and desires of sports car enthusiasts.

The 1952 Jaguar XK120 symbolized Jaguar's transition from a traditional British manufacturer to a global player in the sports car segment. With its design by William Lyons and its competitive performance, the model laid the foundation for later Jaguars, including the XK140 and the iconic E-Type. This made the XK120 an influential presence in the early 1950s. To get a good idea of the lot, we recommend coming to the viewing day.
