This 1951 Ford Country Squire Woodie Wagon 4.8L was thoroughly restored and modified in 2012. Under the previous owner, the car received a fuel-injected 4.8-liter V8 engine with six separate throttle bodies mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. The bodywork was sandblasted and repainted in olive green, with maple and mahogany wood panels reportedly sourced from Rick Mack Enterprises. The exterior was further fitted with a 1949 front grille, a split tailgate and a 1936 tire cover on the tailgate, complemented by yellow painted steel rims with wide whitewall tires.
The interior was completely redone with brown leather upholstery, a matching headliner and door panels and tan carpet. The second row of seats was retractable and replacement sun visors were fitted. The car also had power windows controlled with factory-style levers, air conditioning and a remote-controlled audio system. Steering and brakes were power-assisted, and the suspension was replaced with an air suspension system with tubular lower control arms that could be operated from the interior.
The 1951 Ford Country Squire Woodie Wagon 4.8L was considered one of the brand's most luxurious station wagons at the time, with wood and steel combining to create a distinctive look. The reported chassis number is B1BF131899, the odometer reading showed approximately 1,500 miles (not guaranteed), and the car has been held by its current owner since 2018. With its combination of classic styling and modern engineering, this model showed how the Country Squire could adapt to changing needs. To get a good idea of the lot, we recommend coming to the viewing day.
