The 1949 Rolls Royce Silver Dawn offered is a rare example, with only 761 units produced, 110 of them in the short trunk version. This left-hand drive variant is equipped with a 4.2 liter inline 6-cylinder engine, known for its extremely smooth operation. The car featured an innovative shift system at the steering wheel, with four synchronized gears. Acclaimed in its time for its elegance and luxury, this model has an original sunroof that adds to its exclusive appearance.
The interior trim, including the seats, bench seat and door panels, has been updated, while the rest of the upholstery remains authentic. The bodywork showed some minor imperfections, typical of Rolls Royce and Bentley models, sometimes prone to rust due to its construction from loose welded parts. Despite these details, the bodywork is generally solid and in good condition. The rear bumper showed a dent, but this does not detract from the overall charm of the vehicle.
The underbody was in excellent condition, with new tires providing good grip. An original, though not complete, tool kit was present at the bottom of the dash, along with several original oil sprays and a crank in the engine compartment. The car starts without a key, which is a unique feature. For a good view of the lot, we recommend coming to the viewing day.
