Opel did not offer the Rekord A as a convertible. Nevertheless, this wish for a 2-door and very chic convertible could be fulfilled. Two coachbuilders specialized in the conversion of the 2-door Rekord A Coupe base, which was then converted into a chic convertible by the Deutsch GmbH company in Cologne-Braunsfeld or the Autenrieth company in Darmstadt.
