Ducati Supersport 600 SS Desmodue 1997

The Ducati SuperSport and SS are a series of air-cooled four-stroke desmodromic 2-kY27valves 90° V-twin motorcycles made by Ducati since 1988. Starting in 1994, a 600 cc was added to this in the form of the SS 600 to better meet the needs of the emerging 600 cc classes with a broader program. The revised SuperSports garnered immediate success and became wildly popular. Even though the 1994 SuperSport was extremely well developed, Ducati would continue to refine the bike over the years. (Production total in 1997: 1,001 units).... The air-cooled engine has a capacity of 583 CC. Furthermore, the four-stroke V-Twin Cylinder SOHC Desmodronic engine block features two valves per cylinder. Power of 53 HP (38.7 kW) is delivered at 8,250 rpm. Torque was set at 49 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The engine had a dry weight of 172 Kg and already achieved (for that time) a top speed of about 192.6 Km/hour. Transmission is via a 5-speed gearbox that drives the rear wheel via a chain. Otherwise, the bike is equipped with Ducati's widely used Marzocchi Upside-Down front fork and a single disc brake at the front and a single disc brake at the rear. This 1997 model is one of the last series from 1997 and can be recognized, among other things, by the streamline (fairing) that has been changed. In the full fairing there are more air vents and the Ducati decals (Graphics) are now enlarged over the entire fairing which gives the bike a new look after several years of being unchanged. The bike is almost entirely in original condition as it was run at the time. The original exhaust has been replaced for a deeper sound with a Sebring carbon muffler which brings out the true Ducati sound. Through the years the bike has been used relatively little considering its age, which given the relatively low mileage of about 26,000 km, the overall condition of the bike is also good to see. The bike is easy to ride and with its 39 kW it is a very valuable and safe way to get experience in the type of sports bike with racing aspirations. This Ducati SuperSport is an original Dutch delivered bike which still has the original Dutch license plate. The Ducati 900 SS SuperSport is not scarce and is still regularly offered. An original example with relatively low mileage is not offered in the market every day. If you are looking for the type Caranata (with the full fairing) in the color scheme Diablo Yellow, you may turn on your high beam, because you will not easily find one. The bike has been stationary for some time. Some maintenance is advised before returning to traffic. To get a good idea of the lot we recommend you come to the viewing day.
