The 1992 Mercedes-Benz 200 D is part of the W124 series, produced from 1984 to 1995. The W124 was a very successful and influential model series for Mercedes-Benz.
The "200 D" denotes the diesel model with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine.
The fuel type (D for Diesel) implies more efficient fuel consumption compared to the gasoline models.
The performance of the 200 D was probably modest compared to the more powerful gasoline models, but diesel engines from Mercedes-Benz are generally known for their durability and torque at lower speeds. The car is equipped with an automatic transmission.
