Beschreibung

At the beginning of the last century, Lucien Rosengart was a French factory owner and engineer who was a major financier and manufacturer of auto parts for Peugeot and Citroën, among others. After producing the cyclecars popular at the time, Lucien decided to produce Austin Sevens under his own name under license. This successful LR2 remained in production while in 1931 the further developed successor LR4 was also launched on the market. Despite the industrialële nature of production, production numbers were not high. After World War II, the success of the LR2 and LR4 was not matched. Finally, the brand closed its doors in 1955. The 1937 LR4N2 offered here is a two-door sedan from a private Rosengart collection. The car was found in a Dutch barn just before the Corona pandemic after disappearing from the street scene for 30 years. The engine has been made running, however the car has been stationary for a year now so the operation needs to be checked. That the engine is loose is easily proven by the crank. The wiring and technical parts should still work properly due to the aforementioned technical attention. Interior and exterior still look tidy, with some traces of age belonging to its considerable age. A certificate from the German Rosengart Museum is present, demonstrating provenance. This is a rare piece of automotive history, which with some technical attention can become a special eye-catcher again. To get a good picture of the lot we advise you to come to the viewing day.
