The Opel GT/J 1900 is a rarer variant of the Opel GT, a sports car known for its striking design and sporting performance. About 11,000 of this type were produced, of which only a limited number remain in circulation today. The Opel GT/J 1900 was powered by a 1.9-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. The "J" in the name stands for "Jetronic," referring to the mechanical fuel injection that distinguished this variant from other Opel GT models, at the time an advanced technology. The car had a striking and recognizable design with its streamlined body, folding headlights and long nose. The design was heavily inspired by American sports cars such as the Chevrolet Corvette. The car was known for its sporty and agile handling. It had a well-balanced chassis and responded well to driver input. This car has been fully restored, with the goal of keeping as much of it original as possible. Below is a list of specific items of the car: - original dashboard with no cracks - the upholstery of the roof, seats and doors are all original - new interior carpet - all parts of the bodywork that were in poor condition were repaired with steel - after the bodywork was repaired, the car was completely repainted in the original color - new brakes and all pumps overhauled - electrical cables overhauled and renewed what needed to be replaced - Fluids and filter replaced - new fuel pump - new water pump - new spark plugs and spark plug wires - new engine gaskets and belt To get a good idea of the lot we recommend you come to the viewing day.
