Between 1956 and 1967, Renault produced more than 2,150,000 Dauphines. Less well known is the version of the French success number built under license by Alfa Romeo. In 1958, the Régie Nationale des Usines Renault (Renault was still a state-owned company) and Alfa Romeo signed an agreement from which Renault Italia emerged. Part of the deal included being able to sell Alfa cars in France through the Renault dealer network. In addition, between 1959 and 1964, the Alfa Romeo Dauphine for the Italian market would come off the assembly line at Portello, located in the Italian province of Milan. With the addition of the Dauphine to the delivery range, Alfa Romeo sought to increase its sales by also offering a less expensive model. In total, nearly 74,000 Alfa Romeo's Dauphine were built. Today only a limited number of them remain. The Dauphine offered here from the first year of production is in drivable and original condition.
