Beschrijving

AC Schnitzer is a German tuning company which has been producing performance-enhancing parts mainly for BMW models since 1987. These upgrades are designed, tested and produced in-house for motorsport and touring car racing, among others. As a result, the often striking cosmetic modifications are assisted by serious technical upgrades that enable impressive performance. In 2005, AC Schnitzer introduced the Tension Concept at IAA Frankfurt, based on the then-new BMW M6. The M6 was totally overhauled and improved in terms of engine management, exhaust, intake, cooling, chassis, brakes and aerodynamics. As a result, the Tension Concept produced an impressive 552hp, completed the 0-100 sprint in just 4.5 seconds and reached a top speed of 331 km/h. The interior was also modified with carbon fiber trim and various alcantara parts. As a result, the Tension Concept recorded a top speed of 331.78 km/h at the Nardo bowl track, making it the fastest street-legal BMW. This concept car proved so popular that a very limited production version was developed. BMW 6-series E63 models could be converted to Tension Street Version specification at AC Schnitzer in Aachen, with performance depending on the engine type of the donor car. The absolute top model was based on the M6, like the one offered here. Only 50 examples of the M6 Tension Street Version were produced, of which this number is 05/50. The conversion alone cost €43,900 in 2005. That still does not include the purchase of the M6, which cost €156,300 at the time. Converted to current prices, this M6 Tension today would have a total purchase price of about €310,310. This example was delivered to Munich in 2005 and remained in Germany until at least 2012. After this, this Tension spent some time in Slovenia. Not much service history is known, but with a very low mileage of only 44,642 km, this is less important. The mileage is proven by a printout of the data points stored in the key, received during correspondence with AC Schnitzer. Apart from a few cosmetic attention points belonging to its age, the car is otherwise in top condition, consistent with its low mileage. All in all, this is a spectacular example of German tuning tradition and a rare specimen. To get a good idea of the lot we advise you to come to the viewing day.
