Description

This Ford Mustang is in clean and drivable condition. The car was restored some time ago and both the interior and exterior look generally good. The car is exempt from road tax and MOT. Its features include the well-known 289 engine, an automatic transmission and power steering. This is an A Code: The A and C Code engines were the standard V8 option for early Mustangs, both with a displacement of 289 cubic inches. The two 4.7-liter engines were distinguished primarily by their carburetors. The A Code engine had a four-cylinder carburetor, while the C Code had a two-cylinder unit. However, there were also internal differences, starting with the design of the piston. The A Code engines had flat pistons, giving it a compression ratio of 10: 1 compared to the C Code's compression ratio of 9.3: 1, derived from the saucer-shaped pistons. The result was a difference of 25 horsepower, with the A Code making 225 compared to the C Code's 200, with the C Code dropping to 195 horsepower in 1968.
