Description

Germaan was a Dutch moped brand that was active between 1953 and 1963. The company was located in Dongen in Brabant and produced various models of mopeds. Germaan mopeds were known for their reliability and quality. They were equipped with reliable engines from Sachs and Victoria, among others, and had a sturdy steel frame. Germaan focused primarily on the more expensive and luxurious moped market. In the 1960s, Germaan had a hard time due to competition from cheaper mopeds, for example from Asia. The company decided to concentrate on the production of machines for the textile industry. This put an end to the production of Germanan mopeds. Today, Germanan mopeds are loved by collectors of classic mopeds because of their solid quality and the relatively small number of units produced. The lots on offer are part of a static collection that has been accumulated over the last 40 years. They are mainly in an unrestored, original but dusty condition. We have not tried to start any of the lots. We have been informed that the engines have been turned, on a regular basis, but the exact condition of the lots and the engines is unknown to us. You can inspect the lots on the viewing days for which you have to make a reservation through our ticketshop.
