Beschrijving

The first generation Ford Thunderbird, also known as the "T-Bird", was produced from 1955 to 1957. It was a two-door roadster designed as a response to the Chevrolet Corvette, which was introduced in 1953. The first-generation Thunderbird was a sports car with a striking design and distinctive features such as a long hood, low roof and removable hardtop. It also had a number of innovative features, including a power soft top that operated automatically. The first-generation Thunderbird was powered by a 193-horsepower V8 engine and had a top speed of approximately 180 km/h. The interior was stylish and comfortable, with leather upholstery and an instrument panel designed to give the driver all the information he needed. In 1956, the first generation Thunderbird was upgraded with some new features, including the option of an automatic transmission and a more powerful V8 engine of 5.1 liters with a capacity of 225 hp. In 1957, the Thunderbird was upgraded again with a number of design changes and new features, including the introduction of a removable roof panel. This model is considered one of the most iconic Thunderbirds of all time and is often cited as a milestone in American automotive history. The first-generation Thunderbird was a commercial success, with more than 53,000 units sold. Today, it is still appreciated for its unique style and performance and is considered a classic in American automotive history. The cars on offer are part of a static collection that has been accumulated over the last 40 years. They are mainly in an unrestored, original but dusty condition. We have not tried to start any of the cars. We have been informed that the engines have been turned, on a regular basis, but the exact condition of the cars and the engines is unknown to us. You can inspect the cars on the viewing days for which you have to make a reservation through our ticketshop.
