The Delahaye 135 is a classic French car produced between 1935 and 1954. It was produced in several body styles including Convertible, Coupé, Roadster and Berlinetta. The bodies were made by various coachbuilders, including Figoni et Falaschi, Henri Chapron and Jacques Saoutchik. The convertible version was a popular choice because of its open roof and elegant design. The Delahaye 135M Convertible was an upgrade of the 135. The "M" in the name stands for Modifié, meaning "modified", and this model had a modified engine that produced more power than the standard Delahaye 135. The car originally had an upgraded 3.5-liter six-in-line engine and was available with a four-speed manual transmission or a pre-selector Cotal transmission. The 135 M engine was generally equipped with three carburetors and developed 110 bhp. With its sporty chassis and powerful engine, the model was quite successful in competition, finishing 2nd and 3rd in the 1936 24 Hours of Spa, 2nd and 3rd in the 1937 24 Hours of Le Mans and 1-2 in the 1938 24 Hours of Le Mans. Due to the rarity and the historical value of the Delahaye 135m, they are very popular today. Approximately 2,000 of all variants of the 135 were produced. The cars on offer are part of a static collection that has been accumulated over the last 40 years. They are mainly in an unrestored, original but dusty condition. We have not tried to start any of the cars. We have been informed that the engines have been turned, on a regular basis, but the exact condition of the cars and the engines is unknown to us. You can inspect the cars on the viewing days for which you have to make a reservation through our ticketshop.
