The Daimler DB18 was a luxury saloon car produced by the British car manufacturer Daimler between 1939 and 1953. The 1949 Daimler DB18 was a model produced after the Second World War and was an evolution of the pre-war model. The 1949 DB18 had a six-cylinder engine of 2.5 liters and delivered 70 horsepower. The car was equipped with a four-speed manual transmission and had independent suspension and hydraulic brakes. The body styles of the DB18 included a sedan, a drophead Coupé and a sedan. The 1949 DB18 was one of the first new models produced by Daimler after the war and was intended to maintain the brand's luxurious appearance. The car was popular with the British elite and the Royal Family, who owned several vehicles. A total of 12,500 DB18s were built before production was discontinued. The cars on offer are part of a static collection that has been accumulated over the last 40 years. They are mainly in an unrestored, original but dusty condition. We have not tried to start any of the cars. We have been informed that the engines have been turned, on a regular basis, but the exact condition of the cars and the engines is unknown to us. You can inspect the cars on the viewing days for which you have to make a reservation through our ticketshop.
