Specifications
[description]

The Maserati 3500 GTIs, as the Sebring was originally called, was first shown at the 1962 Geneva Motor Show. The "S" stood for Sebring. The car was based on the short chassis of the 3500 GT Spyder, with a body designed by Giovanni Michelotti of Carrozzeria Vignale. The name is a tribute to Maserati's victory at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1963. The "GTI" in the name of the car stands for "Grand Tourismo Iniezione" and refers to the fuel injection of the engine. The Maserati 3500 GTI was equipped with a 3.5-liter six-cylinder fuel-injected engine that produced about 235 horsepower, which was considerably more than the standard 220 horsepower of the 3500 GT. The car had a top speed of about 235 km/h and could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds. The body of the 3500 GTI was designed by Giovanni Michelotti of Carrozzeria Vignale and had a streamlined profile with striking twin headlights and a prominent radiator grille. The interior was luxuriously appointed with soft leather and wood accents, and featured a distinctive dashboard design. Praised for its excellent performance and sporty driving dynamics, the Maserati 3500 GTI was a popular choice among car enthusiasts. Only 441 of the 3500 GTIs were produced, making it a rare and desirable classic car. It looks like this car still has its first paint. The cars on offer are part of a static collection that has been accumulated over the last 40 years. They are mainly in an unrestored, original but dusty condition. We have not tried to start any of the cars. We have been informed that the engines have been turned, on a regular basis, but the exact condition of the cars and the engines is unknown to us. You can inspect the cars on the viewing days for which you have to make a reservation through our ticketshop.
