Specifications
[description]

Villard was a French manufacturer, especially of three-wheeled bicycle cars. This Villard Type 27 has a unique appearance. It is a three-wheeled bicycle car with the single front wheel serving as both steering and driving wheel. The Villard type 27 is powered by a single-cylinder, two-stroke, air-cooled BC (Béchir and Colin) engine, 350 cm3. The engine produced 4 hp and was connected to a perpendicular to the road mounted frictional and a transmission to the front wheel via chain and cardan (in the wheel). A bound lever makes it possible to offer 6 speeds. It had drum brakes on the rear wheels with cable control and hand brakes on the front wheel. The 27 weighed 170 kg and could reach 40 km/h. Only a few dozen of the Villard Type 27 were produced during the brand's short production period from 1927 to 1935. No exact production numbers are known, but it is known that Villard produced only a few bicycle cars per year. This makes the Villard Type 27 a very rare object that is rarely offered for sale. The cars on offer are part of a static collection that has been accumulated over the last 40 years. They are mainly in an unrestored, original but dusty condition. We have not tried to start any of the cars. We have been informed that the engines have been turned, on a regular basis, but the exact condition of the cars and the engines is unknown to us. You can inspect the cars on the viewing days for which you have to make a reservation through our ticketshop.
