The 1981 Porsche 928 is a true timeless classic and a highlight in the history of the Porsche brand. Designed as a luxury grand tourer, this model was an engineering masterpiece and a breakthrough for Porsche, with its advanced transaxle design that provided optimal weight distribution. This particular 928 is finished in the beautiful color Palisander metallic, a rare and refined hue that further emphasizes the model's elegance.
This example features a manual transmission, which provides a pure driving experience and reinforces the brand's sporty roots. Extensive maintenance has been performed over the past two years to bring the car into excellent technical condition. Major work included a new distribution including water pump, replacement of all fluids, a new handbrake cable and shift rod rubbers, and a refurbished fuel tank sender. These efforts are crowned with a valid MOT until February 2026.
The car has also undergone extensive electrical work. Several electric motors, such as the alternator, windshield washer and heater fan, have been renewed or overhauled. The electric windows, rear window wiper and driver's seat adjustment have also been restored to top condition. This contributes not only to the car's reliability, but also to its comfort and ease of use while driving.
The interior has been partially updated, with particular attention paid to the iconic Pasha upholstery that has been reupholstered. The seats have been padded for optimal seating comfort, while the headliner and dashboard have remained in original condition. All accessories are present, with the exception of the air conditioning which is partially disassembled and no longer functional. For lovers of authenticity, it is reassuring that the car has matching numbers, as evidenced by the original Geburtserkunde.
In addition to the technical and aesthetic improvements, this European version has a complete mileage history since its importation into the Netherlands. This emphasizes the transparency and care with which this car has been maintained, making it an attractive specimen for both collectors and lovers of classic Porsche models.
