It is a great achievement to take a beautifully lined sports car and make a derivative that is just as comfortable on the retina. Volvo did it in the sixties and seventies with the P1800 and its successor, the 1800 Es. The Volvo 1800ES is a classic sports car produced by Volvo between 1972 and 1973. It is a two-door sports car with a shooting brake body style, which means that it is a sporty two-door Coupé with an extended roof that runs into a station wagon-like rear. The Volvo 1800ES is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with fuel injection. The engine has an output of 135 hp and is connected to a three-speed automatic transmission. The Volvo 1800ES had a striking design with a long bonnet, short overhangs and a glass tailgate that offered a panoramic view. It had a characteristic wedge-shaped body and was equipped with striking details such as twin headlights, chrome bumpers and the well-known "hockey stick" side strips. Production of the Volvo 1800ES was limited, only 8,077 cars were built between 1972 and 1973. This makes the Volvo 1800ES a rare and sought-after classic. The cars on offer are part of a static collection that has been accumulated over the last 40 years. They are mainly in an unrestored, original but dusty condition. We have not tried to start any of the cars. We have been informed that the engines have been turned, on a regular basis, but the exact condition of the cars and the engines is unknown to us. You can inspect the cars on the viewing days for which you have to make a reservation through our ticketshop.
